Nice location

Location enabled us to have good access to Via Veneto. My luggage didn't make it on arrival to Rome, and the desk person was very helpful with phone calls and communication with Air France. We just went out to see the sights, and he took and made calls on my behalf. He was very helpful. The hotel is quite expensive, but nice for a first night.

In general, I have to say thumbs up to the Barberini hotel. The staff, in general, was friendly and efficient. The room was small, but well decorated and large enough to be functional for 2. As mentioned previously, the breakfast was held in the basement, but you could go to the roof for drinks in the evening or to just enjoy to nice view of Rome at sunset. The air conditioning was functional, but as Ive found in a number of other European hotels, would not cool much below 23 C (software limited I think). Manageable, but a bit warm if you are used to sleeping in a cool room.The location was decent. It was close to the Barberini subway stop, within close walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, and reasonably close to the Pantheon and ruins. In all honesty, Id probably look for something a bit more central to those locations if I returned, but I think it would be difficult for the price and quality of the room.

Nice hotel in a perfect location and a quiet rooftop bar with a view. We got a decent rate (by Rome standards) of about 250 euros a night, and I can't imagine the more expensive hotels being much better. Room was small, but aren't they all? Our room faced the street on the 2nd floor and was as quiet as could be. Impressive.
