This hotel was perfect for the price. The lobby and common areas of the hotel are very nice, and the breakfast buffet was good as well. It's on the doorstep of St. Peter's and about a 10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station, and then a 10 minute ride to central Rome. The staff were helpful. The room was clean, though some wallpaper was peeling off the wall. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but after a long day walking around Rome, it was good enough. It's a good choice for someone who wants a clean, safe, quiet, friendly hotel, but doesn't want to pay a ridiculous price.
Great vacation spot- convenient walk to St. Peter's & 1 block to public buses. Ample double rooms-daily maid service. lovely lobby & bar- great for meeting other guests to share stories after a day of travel. Buffet breakfast included- take an apple for later day snacks. Keys are large & impossible to lose. The only concern i had was one night my husband went up to the room & he had the key. I asked at the main desk & they sent someone to let me in without checking who i was- maybe I'm just a paranoid New Yorker!!
The hotel has a nice foyer inside despite looking a little shabby outside. The bedroom had a new carpet and, although quite small, was very clean. Wallpaper was starting to peel off the walls however. Staff were pleasant enough and the food adequate. The location is great for the Vatican and, if you are lucky, you'll have a view of the top of St Peter's Basilica. There are few local bars and restaurants and so you'll have to walk a fair distance to get anywhere nice. Treat the hotel as a base to explore Rome rather than anything else and you won't be disappointed. Be careful when trying to cross the nearby road to the Basilica though! |
